Gameplay Footage of Timesplitters 2 Remake Surfaces Online

Gameplay footage of Timesplitters 2 remake has surfaced online thanks to a former developer on the project.

The footage was uploaded to LinkedIn by Rob Steptoe, who said “I’ll be sure to post what I can” on the project. The original video has since been mirrored and uploaded across various other platforms. You can see 5 minutes of gameplay below:

Timesplitters 2 remake was canceled in late 2023 as a part of Embracer Groups major restructuring, which has seen several game development studios close and games canceled. The Timesplitters 2 remake was poised to be a free-to-play title developed by Free Radical. Free Radical closed in December 2023.

“Free Radical Design was a hub of creativity, but sadly, we join an ever-growing list of casualties in a broken industry where entire studios are treated as replaceable cogs in a soulless machine fixated on nothing but share prices,” former Quality Assurance Manager Kevin Ellis posted“To all who lent their skills, dedication and creativity, you are the heartbeat of Free Radical Design.”

After the layoffs, developers who worked on the project started to post concept art and other various images on the Timesplitters 2 remake project which you can also see here.

What do you think of the Timesplitters 2 remake gameplay? Let us know in the comments.

  • This gameplay is garbage. This long abhorrently bad. I feel for FreeRadical but we are blessed that this never saw the light of day.

  • We lack fun games like timesplitters dam shame it’s stuck unfished like so many in this dirty industry. If only they would release this if unfished for a taster. Dreams…

  • Hold up. That UI, with the gun rarity, the menus, the character models and animations…thats Fortnite mate.
