Witcher Season 4 Cast Is Getting Increasingly Star-Studded

Nobody knows what’s going to happen in season four of The Witcher, the popular live-action adaptation of the game series of the same name, but it’s all shaping up to be something special. In the final episode of the third season, fans of the franchise bid farewell to Henry Cavill, who has vacated the role of Geralt of Rivia after superbly playing him since 2019. He’ll be replaced by Liam Hemsworth in season four, but thanks to recent casting information, we now know that Hemsworth will be flanked by some heavy hitters.

Phenomenal Casting

In an exclusive published by Variety, three new castings were revealed for season four of The Witcher, which is set to hit screens the world over in 2025.

It was first confirmed that Sharlto Copley (District 9, Chappie) will be picking up the role of Leo Bonhart, a skilled swordsman and bounty hunter. Copley is one of the most instantly recognisable South African actors in the world and has shared the screen with some of the biggest names in the business over the last two decades.

Next, a sizeable role has been handed to James Purefoy (Resident Evil, Churchill) in the form of Stefan Skellen, a deceptive and mysterious Nilfgaardian spy. Purefoy has more than thirty years of acting credits to back up his claim to such a prominent role – he’ll certainly deliver in the show.

Finally, Danny Woodburn (TMNT, Seinfeld) has been brought on board to play Zoltan Chivay, who fans will easily recognise as Geralt’s close friend and stalwart companion from the games.

In addition to these roles, it was recently revealed that Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Regis, an enigmatic vampire with a substantial presence in The Witcher.

These actors will join Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, and Joey Batey, who are returning to play Ciri, Yennefer, and Jaskier, respectively.

It’s not yet known how the showrunners will address the obvious replacement of Henry Cavill’s Geralt – if they will at all – so it’ll be interesting to see how the first trailers for season four unfold.
