The Witcher 3 Next-Gen To Launch in Physical Form This Month

It has been revealed (too early, we might add) by a particular online retailer that The Witcher 3’s next-gen upgrade will debut in physical form on the 26th of January. This access-all-areas version of the game will feature the base game that was upgraded for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms as well as every single piece of content released to date.

It’s the Complete Edition, and it’ll be launching with extra content to make the physical version all that more tantalising. For collectors, it’s an easy buy, with the boxed version coming hand-in-hand with an exclusive compendium, stickers, and a map.

Is It Time To Buy The Witcher 3 Again?

There’s no doubt that The Witcher 3’s next-gen upgrade was a significant improvement – and it was free, after all, but CD PROJEKT RED is going one step further. Recently, it was leaked by the online platform, Ultima, and covered by PPE.pl, that the physical, boxed version of the next-gen upgrade will launch on the 26th of January at a price point of around £29.99 / $34.99.

This mega bundle will launch with a stack of physical goodies as well as everything digitally released so far, plus a few added bonuses that fans of the Witcher Netflix series will enjoy:

  • Blood and Wine expansion
  • Hearts of Stone expansion
  • Sixteen individual DLCs (cosmetics, missions, weapons, etc.)
  • ‘Extra Items’ inspired by the Netflix series

For gamers that haven’t ever experienced The Witcher 3, this is a bargain, and for those that have played it already, it could make for either a welcome revisit to the world of The Witcher or a shiny item to put on a shelf somewhere.

UPDATE: CD PROJEKT RED has clarified and issued a statement to Insider Gaming regarding the physical versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

CD PROJEKT RED is planning a physical release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition for late January 2023. It will be available both for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The box will include a disc containing the base game and the Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine expansions. All official DLCs and upgrades released during the last seven years by CD PROJEKT RED will also be part of this set — including the free next-gen update, featuring dozens of visual, performance, and technical enhancements (including ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, a variety of mods integrated into the experience, and much more). The box will contain only the aforementioned disc. Price and availability are determined by retailers in each territory.
