The Rogue Prince of Persia Launches into Early Access on May 27

In a new post on Twitter, Evil Empire announced that the updated Early Access release date for The Rogue Prince of Persia is May 27, 2024.

Last week, Evil Empire delayed Early Access for the game due to the enormous popularity of Hades 2. The devs explained that Hades 2 fits into the same genre, and also launched into Early Access just a week before. Originally, the planned release date was May 14, so the delay is still relatively short.

In addition to the new release date, Evil Empire also confirmed The Rogue Prince of Persia’s tag. It will cost $19.99, and the devs teased a potential launch discount. However, Evil Empire did not confirm the discount details.

Evil Empire first officially announced The Rogue Prince of Persia in April. The game’s Steam page describes it as an action roguelite, and its indie sensibilities provide a fresh twist on the beloved IP. The plot will have players “save Persia from a Hun invasion wielding dark magic.”

On the Steam page, the devs also mention that The Rogue Prince of Persia could remain in Early Access “for around a year, probably a little bit longer.”

In today’s new Steam post, Evil Empire also added that the next community update on May 17 will explore Asadi’s soundtrack and the art direction.

In the meantime, Prince of Persia fans are also waiting for the Sands of Time remake. Insider Gaming found exclusive details about the remake last April. At this time, Ubisoft has not confirmed a release date for the Sands of Time remake yet.
