A new report from prominent leaker Billbil-kun via Dealabs claims that a PC port for The Last Of Us Part 2 is already under development.
Loosely translated, Billbil-kun adds that the PC port has been in the works since 2021. In fact, they claim that the port was already deep into development by November 2023.
It’s unclear exactly why Sony would wait on this port following the remastered release. However, Billbil-kun points out that there may be some attempt to tie into the HBO live-action series.
There is still a lot of hype for that show after the first season earned strong ratings. Just last month, Max also revealed the first couple of production images from the upcoming season.
There’s been a lot of criticism over Sony’s PSN requirements. Last week, Sony officially confirmed that both God of War Ragnarok and Until Dawn will require a PSN account on PC.
However, PlayStation’s PC ports still build a lot of buzz. The Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC even introduced PlayStation trophies and an overlay. Fans would likely be pleased to revisit The Last of Us Part 2 that way. It also adds a lot of incentives for completionists.
This week, fans were dismayed when Neil Druckmann stated that Naughty Dog wouldn’t be a The Last of Us studio forever.
At this time, Sony has not officially confirmed anything about a PC port for The Last of Us Part 2.
