The Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 2 Map is Strikingly Similar to Tokyo Bay

Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 2 is here, and as usual, it arrives with a new map to explore and fight in. A map with distinct similarities to a famous real-life city.

The full map for Fortnite MEGA is available to see in the image below courtesy of Fortnite leaker HYPEX.

As is clearly visible from above, the Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 2 map introduces a brand new biome to drop into. Wiping out Faulty Splits, it expands the island’s borders to incorporate a sizable bay with a large bridge across its mouth.

Inside the biome, you’ll be able to visit new points of interest including the fishing port of Knotty Nets, martial Kenjutsu Crossing, soothing Steamy Springs, and towering Mega City.

The Mega City will be the main attraction, bringing grind rails that will let you speed between high-rise buildings while popping off shots at your opponents. Head beyond its neon walls, however, and there’s plenty of natural beauty to admire. There’s even the opportunity to stop and admire soothing cherry blossoms, provided you can dodge the gunfire for a time.

Several fans have already noticed the distinct similarity between the layout of the land in the southeast region and that of Tokyo Bay. Though Fortnite’s Mega City doesn’t encompass nearly as much land as its real-world counterpart.

It was already clear that developer Epic Games has taken plenty of inspiration from Japan and anime for the new season. But viewed from above, it’s apparent just how much the country’s capital was referenced while designing the updated content.

What’s your favorite new spot on the Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 2 map?
