Twitter user @AvoidThePuddle has confirmed that Tekken 8 will be at The Game Awards after posting a picture of a Tekken 8 t-shirt that also says “Tune into The Game Awards Livestream!”
It’s been heavily rumored that the game will be featured at the event, but the image has confirmed it will be making an appearance. It’s likely that a new trailer of the game will be shown, but no official details have yet been given.
Tekken 8 was first unveiled during EVO 2022 with brief footage of Kazuya smiling and then we had an official announcement trailer during the September State of Play stream.
According to Katsuhiro Harada, “This new entry will focus on the father and son showdown between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama”.
Tekken 8 will be the second Tekken game to utilize Unreal Engine but will be using Unreal Engine 5 for this installment, making it the first fighting game to utilize the latest Unreal Engine.
Earlier this month, Bandai Namco announced during an earnings call that Tekken 8 will launch in FY 2023 or later. Thye comments suggest the game will not be released until Marcy 31, 2023 or later.
Tekken 8 will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.
