Battlestate Games has made players aware of an issue in Escape from Tarkov that’s plaguing PvE players. As of this morning, seemingly every PvE player has had their accounts wiped or had their progress mixed up with their PvP account, but Battlestate is on the case.
In a post on social media, the team outlined the issue and insisted it was working to restore progress as soon as possible, which isn’t too difficult to do, but it has the community up in arms and actively lambasting the studio.
PvE Account Wipe Problem Hits Tarkov
This isn’t the first time that a progress glitch has hit Escape from Tarkov, and it probably won’t be the last time. What matters is that Battlestate Games is resilient enough to recover effectively, but there will undoubtedly be a historic point from which the studio can recover progress, and the most recent raids players were on will have been lost.
That’s conjecture based on prior incidents, I should say.
In the post on social media, the team wrote:
We are aware that, due to a technical issue, progress on players’ accounts in the PvE ZONE has been reset, or profile progress in PvP mode has been transferred to the PvE ZONE.
We are actively working to restore progress for all accounts affected by this issue.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Of course, players were quick to jump into the comments to demand compensation in the form of a promo code, free items, or instant progress boosts (like free levels), but it’s not clear if and when Battlestate will provide anything. I’m holding out the hope that they do, as I too am a ‘PvE main’ player.
