Tango Gameworks was Developing 2 Unannounced Games Before Closure

A developer at Tango Gameworks has revealed that the studio was working on at least 2 unannounced titles before the studio’s closure.

The information comes courtesy of Tsuyoshi Okugawa’s LinkedIn page, which was first spotted by Twitter user @bogorad222. According to his LinkedIn page, he was working on two unannounced titles.

“Unannounced Title Graphics Programmer 2024” and “Unannounced Title Lead Programmer 2023-2024”, his LinkedIn profile reads.

One of these titles is almost certainly the Ghostwire: Tokyo sequel that was leaked during the Microsoft x Activision FTC hearing, which leaked that the game would be released during FY24. As for the second game, it’s highly speculated that it would be a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush.

Unfortunately, Microsoft announced Tango Gameworks would be closing as a part of a restructuring that would see four studios close. The other three studios were Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Studios, and Roundhouse Games.

“These changes are not a reflection of the creativity and skill of the talented individuals at these teams or the risks they took to try new things,” Booty said in the email. “I acknowledge that these changes are also disruptive to the various support teams across ZeniMax and Bethesda that bring our games to market. We are making these tough decisions to create capacity to increase investment in other parts of our portfolio and focus on our priority games,” it was said in an internal email to staff.

  • Would love to see sequels to those games, only if tango ends up reforming and can get HiFi and ghostwire pried from microsofts fingers.

  • It’s disgusting what Microsoft did also the titles were Evil Within 3 and Ghostwire 2. Evil Within would have been massive but now it’s dead thanks to Phil, Matt, Sarah, and Aaron.
