Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield will be released for PS5 in April 2026, along with the brand-new story DLC, Terran Armada, and the Free Lanes update.
After months of waiting and speculating, the time has finally arrived for players to receive a release date for Starfield on PS5. A report from earlier this month had provided players with a date; however, now Bethesda has officially confirmed it. More details about the release, editions, and other aspects should be revealed during the deep dive later today.
Starfield Releases for PS5 Next Month; Price Revealed
A post from the official Bethesda Game Studios account on X (formerly Twitter) reveals the Starfield PS5 release date. The post mentions that the game’s biggest update yet, Free Lanes, will arrive on all platforms on April 7, 2026, including PS5. More details about the update and the story DLC, Terran Armada, will be shared during the deep dive. Interested players can purchase the Standard Edition for $49.99 the Premium Edition for $69.99.
Starfield on PS5 will take advantage of the DualSense controller, which includes adaptive triggers to provide a distinct feeling to all the different types of weapons, including those on the starship. The light bar also indicates the player’s and the ship’s health. Lastly, there are touchpad shortcuts that players can use to either change their POVs, open the map, or use the hand scanner, and more. It will also feature meaningful quality-of-life improvements, such as clearer, more functional surface maps and the REV-8 land vehicle.
In other news, Todd Howard confirmed that Bethesda games will use the AI-driven DLSS 5 technology going forward, starting with Starfield.
