Starfield Datamine Suggests a New Ship Feature is On the Way

A new Starfield datamine suggests that a new feature is on the way: interplanetary travel.

Players have been eagerly waiting for a Starfield update, but are yet to receive any concrete details from the developers. Back in March, Bethesda stated earlier this year that there are “a lot of exciting things” planned for this year, but none of it has been revealed yet. However, the new datamine suggests that Starfield could be getting interplanetary ship travel in an upcoming update.

Starfield Could be Getting Real-Time Interplanetary Travel

Spotted by GameRant, a new post on the r/Starfield subreddit talks about the latest findings in the last two updates for the game. After scrolling through “thousands of lines of code”, xtcrefugee has found several mentions of a ship entering a “cruise mode”.

Typically, a player needs to go through a loading screen when travelling from one planet to another in the same star system; however, it is speculated that Starfield’s new cruise mode could allow players to perform interplanetary travel in real-time.

Nevertheless, as these details do not originate from an official source, players should take the information with a grain of salt and await an announcement from Bethesda.

In other news, a recent claim states that Starfield will arrive for the PlayStation 5 in 2026 along with its highly anticipated second expansion. Additionally, read about the game’s Watchtower mod, which offers brand new Story content. What are your thoughts on Starfield getting interplanetary travel?
