Multiplayer has been a core part of the Splatoon franchise throughout its history, but with Splatoon Raiders adopting a predominantly single-player approach, various questions are being asked about the multiplayer options.
Set to launch on July 23 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, Splatoon Raiders has been described by those who have had hands-on with the game as a mixture of a roguelite and looter-shooter, an entirely different approach from previous entries.
If you’re wondering what your multiplayer options are for Splatoon Raiders, Insider Gaming has all the details.
Does Splatoon Raiders Have Online Multiplayer?

Yes, Splatoon Raiders features online co-operative options for up to four players, allowing you to explore the world alongside your friends.
Multiplayer is a key component of the Splatoon franchise, and while Splatoon Raiders takes a different approach with a single-player adventure rather than the standard head-to-head showdowns, multiplayer is still available.
In Splatoon Raiders co-op, the format seems to be very similar to the Monster Hunter franchise, allowing you to drop in to help other players who have requested assistance or call for help yourself.
Assisting a player provides a Help Bonus in the form of weapons, gadget parts, or other materials, so it’s clear multiplayer is a crucial element in the game.
Does Splatoon Raiders Have Local Multiplayer?
Yes, Splatoon Raiders offers local multiplayer through wireless, but it seems you won’t be able to enjoy multiplayer on a single system.
Instead, anyone wanting to join a Splatoon Raiders game through local wireless will need their own Nintendo Switch 2 console and a copy of the game.
Additionally, Splatoon Raiders does not support Nintendo’s GameShare feature, which allows players to share the game with other players, including those with an original Switch console, for multiplayer.
That does limit the multiplayer options for some, but the good news is there are still more than enough opportunities to join your friends.
