Insider Gaming spoke to Andrey ‘tN1R’ Tatarinovich after Team Spirit’s 3-1 Grand Final victory in the Esports World Cup CS2 tournament over FUT.
tN1R secured the second trophy of his career in the Accor Arena, but is setting his sights on a prize that would prove the team’s consistency above all else.

Congratulations on the win. As a team, you’ve talked about growth a lot at this tournament. How do you think the team has progressed?
Hi, thank you very much. I don’t know, we just keep working during this tournament because the first matches were really tough for us. But we just keep working on ourselves and improving our game.
And also working on our confidence and our form, and it’s finally a good result.
What do you think has improved? Structure? Togetherness?
Yes, we feel more each other on server, we trust each other more, and ur communication was better than before.
I wanted to talk about you individually during the series, because you had a lot of really great moments, especially on Ancient. How were you feeling in the game today?
I’m feeling good. The first map was very bad for us because we need time to work on this map. But on other maps, I’m starting to feel better than before.
It’s also about communication, it’s also about our structure and psychology. Also for me, for example. But in general, all good.
Nuke was a bit easier for Spirit, but you were getting into very good kind of lurking positions on the T side; getting into Heaven, getting behind players. Is that like something that you want to add more of to your game?
Yeah, I like this. For me, it’s a really interesting game when I can move on the map and have this space where I can play for myself, and trying to give space for my mates when I understand I have gaps. But yeah, I like this stuff.
Sh1ro won so many clutches today. So what were you thinking in the server after you won the fifth or sixth one?
We really were happy. We were screaming like animals. It was very good, yeah.
In terms of your career, this is your second big trophy after Astana. How keen are you to win more trophies?
My main goal is to win the Grand Slam. That’s it.
Why is that so important to you?
I don’t know, because in my opinion, it’s a really rare trophy for CS players, because you need to win four tournaments in a short period. I think it’s really high status and a rare trophy.
At this event, do you think that the team has found the right balance between being aggressive and considered?
Yeah, we’re just trying to combine both styles.
