Focus Entertainment has announced that Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has been delayed to the second half of 2024.
In the press release, it was announced that the new release date of the game would be revealed in “early December”. The early December reveal date could suggest that it could be revealed at The Game Awards which takes place on December 8, 2023.
Last year, Space Marine 2 gameplay was revealed at The Game Awards.
According to the publisher, the game has been delayed to “provide the time needed to properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience.”
The press release continued, “Focus Entertainment is committed to releasing a game that is
of the highest quality and that exceeds the expectations of the countless fans of the franchise. Space Marine 2 has already accumulated over a million wish lists to date.”
From the first Space Marine game, Captain Titus will return, with the only difference being that he’s now voiced by Clive Standen (of Taken fame) and not Mark Strong, as was the case back in 2011.
As per the original cinematic teaser, players will be pitted against a dominating force of Tyranids, bloodthirsty alien enemies that simply need annihilating.
Space Marine 2 is scheduled to release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
