Helldivers 2 has been on the market for more than two months, and in that time it has enjoyed a stable and consistent player count. There’s a dedicated and thriving community at the heart of this ambitious live service game, and that’s despite the title not appearing on Xbox platforms – only on PC and PlayStation 5. That might be set to change, though.
On the most recent episode of The XboxEra Podcast, it was suggested during ‘The Rumourmill’ segment that talks are underway to bring Helldivers 2 to the Xbox Series X|S platform.
Broaden The Community
As a live service game, Helldivers 2 is nothing without its players. What better chance to expand that player base than to introduce the game to an all-new platform and boost the crossplay mechanics of the title? That was a sentiment referenced by ‘Shpeshal Nick’ during the most recent XboxEra Podcast:
During the episode, Nick says:
We know that PlayStation has a new CEO at the moment, and I think the new CEO might be more open to certain things. And what I’ve heard is that there may be some very, very early, preliminary discussions about the possiblity of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox.
It’s worth stressing – as Nick does – that that isn’t confirmation, it’s just a rumour. However, it makes complete sense, and there aren’t really any downsides to the proposition. It would broaden the community immeasurably and open up the game to a whole new market of gamers.

So, why do we have competing consoles? Why is there a Nextbox and PS5 Pro coming with a planned PS6, etc? Why is there not one console for all with consistent performance all around? Why are we still having to buy multiple consoles? And if they’re trying to cut costs, it costs time and money, apparently, to have to have a team to port games to. The simplest solution is obviously a single console, you only need to buy one. These mid gen refreshes with sleight boosts in performance aren’t necessary either. The PS5 Pro is still said to be unable to hot 60fps which the PS5, apparently was supposed to be able to do 120fps. Why are we not at 8K 120fps consistent, guaranteed no matter the game, indie or AAA?
Just end the console wars already then
