A New Mobile Sonic Game is Coming This Year, It’s Claimed

A leaker has claimed that a new Sonic Spin-off mobile game is in the works and is to be released by the end of this year.

The rumor comes courtesy of Twitter user @MbKKssTBhz5, who has accurately leaked games relating to ATLUS in the past. According to the leaker, the game is set to have a similar gameplay design to that of Fall Guys, which implies the new Sonic spin-off game could be a Battle Royale-esque title.

Fall Guys was first released in 2020 and became immensely popular with players. Within 24 hours of its release, the game had an active player base of 1.5 million players. Eventually, the game’s player count would rise to over 50 million.

So at least on paper, it makes sense as to why a new Sonic game could be targeting a similar gameplay loop.

Although Insider Gaming could not verify the claims, it is understood that multiple unannounced Sonic titles are in development across mobile and console.

As for when the new mobile could be announced remains to be seen, but the suggested 2024 release date could imply that an announcement could be soon.

What do you think of a new Sonic mobile game that could take inspiration from Fall Guys? Let us know in the comments below.
