Prison Architect 2 Announced With Release Date

Double Eleven and Paradox Interactive have announced Prison Architect 2, launching for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 with a release date of March 26, 2024.

Retailing for $39.99, the game is the sequel to the popular 2D prison simulation game that first released back in 2013.

“Design and develop your own personalized penitentiary in Prison Architect 2,” the trailer’s description reads. “The classic prison-builder will soon break out into 3D, and it’s up to you to contain it!”

As mentioned in the description, Prison Architect 2 moves the game from 2D to 3D with overhauled visuals.

“Prison Architect 2 offers advanced simulation systems, enabling players to construct intricate compounds with a high degree of creative freedom in a 3D environment,” the official press release reads. “From building elaborate structures to managing inmates’ needs while maintaining the facility’s financial stability, Prison Architect 2 expands gameplay and creative tools across the board, for an engaging sandbox experience.

“The game also introduces a connection system between the prisoners, who will make friends or enemies with each other, impacting who they will hang out, partner or fight with. Prison Architect 2 brings prison construction and management gameplay to a new level by entering the third dimension and bringing deeper simulation than ever before.”
