Slocap, the developers behind Rematch, have announced that the game has surpassed 5 million players in the past month.
The announcement was made on the developer’s LinkedIn profile, where it was said that the team will “keep doing our best to make Rematch better.”
Rematch launched on June 19th, 2025, on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X (and on Game Pass), and PC to mixed or average scores according to Metacritic. On launch day, it was announced that the game had accumulated one million players. By June 24th, 2025, Slopcap announced that the game had surpassed three million players.
Despite the game’s success, though, it has received some criticism from its community, notably because the game doesn’t have cross-platform play, which has resulted in noticeably longer wait times for matches.
Slocap has said that cross-platform play will come in a future post-launch update, but as of the time of writing, hasn’t been able to commit to an exact date.
