Riot Games Announces LEC Rivals Challenge To Earn Fans Prizes

Riot Games has announced the LEC Rivals Challenge in which fans can support their favourite esports team by playing games of League of Legends in hopes of meeting the players.

Participants will earn points for playing LoL matches and climb leaderboards, both individually and for their selected team, with various prizes on offer.

During the LEC Spring Split, esports fans can take part in the challenge on Riot’s FTW platform, with meet-and-greet opportunities with players, LEC tickets, gaming hardware, and a year of having every LoL skin and champion unlocked as possible prizes.

The challenge will start on March 28 and end on June 6. It will only be open to players on the EUN1, EUW1, ME1, TR1, and RU servers and to players in 135 select countries.

How to Earn Points in LEC Rivals

All the following objectives are repeatable and available in games of Normal (Draft pick), Ranked, Normal (Swiftplay), Arena, ARAM, Normal, and Ranked Flex.

  • Play and win a game of LoL – 3 points
  • Play and finish a game – 1 point
  • Destroy a turret – 2 points
  • Takedown a Dragon – 2 points
  • Takedown a Baron – 3 points
  • Earn a penta kill – 10 points

There will also be additional limited-time objectives. These special objectives can earn players points, contribute points to their team, or unlock multipliers.

Some special objectives may require chosen teams’ fans to collectively meet a certain target to unlock points. In such cases, only the team that reaches the target first will earn those points.

LEC Rivals Prizes

LEC Rivals will feature leaderboards and prizes both for overall, individual play and for the highest-scoring fans of each LEC team.

The team prizes vary for each team. For example, G2 Esports offers a game of ARAM with its players as a top prize, whereas Fnatic offers a tour of its Berlin office.

Surprisingly, there aren’t any in-game customisation prizes like team icons
