Okay, this will probably be one of the shortest reviews I’ve ever written, but let’s be honest: it’s a headset stand. But it’s a damn good one. Razer’s new Base Station V3 Chroma is here, and it’s turning heads because, as the title says, it’s simply brilliant.
If you’ve been in the market hunting for an attractive and somewhat expensive way to display your gaming headset, look no further than the Base Station V3. It’s a phenomenal device that’s worth every penny, even if, for some, it’s a total waste of money.
Why is the Razer Base Station V3 Chroma So Good?
Imagine this…
You take off your gaming headset, plop it down atop your shiny new Razer Base Station V3 Chroma, and instead of just sitting there, it does something. That’s because you haven’t just placed it in a restful location. You’ve put it atop a headset holder that has a switch built into the top of it.
That’s right – you have a curved, soft platform at the top of the Base Station V3 that has an integrated switch, and with Razer’s Synapse application, you can set what that switch does when you put your headset down and when you lift it back up again.
You might set it so that when you place it down, your audio is re-routed via desktop speakers. You might also set it so that when you pick up your headset, Steam opens. It’s an accessible, quality-of-life thing that moves mountains.
But it doesn’t end there.
The Razer Base Station V3 Chroma has an attractive RGB light strip right up the front, a large and stable base plate that improves stability, and on the back of the thing, you’ll find a couple of power-through USB ports that you can use to charge your headset or any other device you might have nearby.
Doesn’t that all sound fantastic?
Now, here’s the downside. The Razer Base Station V3 Chroma, out of sale, will set you back a handsome $79.99. It’s entirely up to you whether that’s worth it or not. I say it is, but I’m bougie, and I love Razer’s products.
