In a new post on Twitter, the official Resident Evil feed confirmed that Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will launch on February 9th.
Previous leaks hinted at this release date, but Capcom did not officially confirm the date until now.
The new Gold Edition includes the base game, Separate Ways DLC and the Extra DLC pack. It will feature “bonus items previously available in RE4’s Deluxe Edition”.
Players will also be able to access The Mercenaries mode as a free DLC.
The upcoming Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will be available on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A new launch trailer showcased the gameplay and content today.
The Resident Evil 4 Deluxe Edition first released in 2023. It included a few notable pre-order bonus items, such as the Handgun bullet charm and even a mini soundtrack.
Fans who missed out on the Deluxe Edition will appreciate another opportunity to grab previous content. The Gold Edition is appropriately comprehensive.
The Separate Ways DLC released in September 2023 for the Resident Evil 4 remake. It continues to be a standout expansion, and many fans praised its narrative.
The original Resident Evil director stated in December that they have no interest in returning to the franchise. But the series continues to thrive.
The hype around the Gold Edition will surely support Capcom’s recently announced plans to continue remaking Resident Evil games.
Fans have hoped for a Resident Evil – Code: Veronica remake for years. However, an insider reported last November that Capcom has no plans for any remakes to release in 2024.
Resident Evil 4 also got a mobile version in December 2023, which has performed well enough.
