Ubisoft has taken to social media to address an ongoing issue that’s causing Rainbow Six Siege to crash constantly at launch. It’s an irritating issue that has seemingly come out of nowhere, but Ubisoft has tracked down the root cause and is working on a fix.
Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about what has been causing the latest batch of Rainbow Six Siege PC crashes to occur, including how to fix them.
How To Fix Rainbow Six Siege PC Crashes
In a post on social media, Ubisoft confirmed that the latest round of issues impacting Rainbow Six Siege PC players has been caused by a series of Windows updates.
If you’ve been trying to boot Rainbow Six Siege and have been met with crashes, it’s not your fault. It’s not anything to do with your hardware; instead, there’s a problem with your operating system.
Here’s what the team said and suggested you do as a fix:
We’ve received reports of crashes occurring on PC when attempting to launch the game. Our investigation has found that this issue is related to the latest Windows Preview updates.
As a temporary workaround, we recommend uninstalling the following updates:
- KB5124010 (Build 26200.9550)
- KB5121794
But how do you uninstall Windows Preview updates?
Simple:
- Open Settings on your desktop
- Click on Windows Update
- Select Update History
- Scroll to the bottom and click Uninstall Updates
- Find the preview update listed above and click ‘Uninstall’
- Restart your computer
In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye on Ubisoft’s channels to see when this issue is patched and resolved.
