More Call of Duty gameplay is leaking online, and this time it involves the War game mode from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
In a post on Twitter, user Yuno decided it was time to share a look at prototype footage from the War mode in Black Ops 4. After making its debut in Call of Duty: WWII in 2017, the mode was in development for the next game at Treyarch, but was cancelled prior to the game’s 2018 release.
According to an official Call of Duty fandom page, the mode had multiple maps made before it was ultimately scrapped. Those maps varied from a mountain village in Spain to a “ship disassembly area in Colombia”.
Black Ops 4 launched in October 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It was the 2nd-best selling game of 2018 only behind Red Dead Redemption 2. That said, Activision later said that the game didn’t wind up meeting company expectations.
