Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Demo Announcement Leaked Ahead of The Game Awards

The Game Awards 2023 is just hours away. It will celebrate the past 12 months of video games, which could go down in history as one of the best of all time, and showcase many new titles that we can expect over the coming year. One of the games that we can expect to see is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a side-scrolling action platformer.

Fans of the series will remember this is how the series began in 1989, so it seems like Ubisoft is going back to its roots but with a modern twist. The 2.5D side-scroller features Metroidvania-style environments, hidden entrances, and plenty of traps and pitfalls. You can read all about our hands-on preview of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown here.

Ahead of its reveal at The Game Awards, PlayStation’s Brazilian YouTube channel accidentally published the trailer early, revealing new details about Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and announcing a demo. The video has since been taken down. Also at The Game Awards, we can expect to see new trailers for the upcoming Fortnite Rocket Racing mode, which has already been confirmed, as well as titles such as Death Stranding 2 and Star Wars Outlaws.

In the trailer, it was announced that a demo will be coming on January 11, 2024, one week before the game’s official launch. Currently, there is no news on which platforms the demo will be available on, but it will likely be all of them.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is set to launch on January 18, 2024, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Check out the first reveal trailer from June 2023 below.
