Prime Video’s God of War Series Casts Actor Known For Netflix’s ‘Boots’

The Prime Video God of War series has secured yet another actor.

Deadline reports that Max Parker, known for his roles in Emmerdale, Vampire Academy, and Doctor Who, will play one of Odin’s children, Heimdall, in the forthcoming series. Heimdall is described as the Watchman of Asgard, able to anticipate events at any moment. His character is also described as a black sheep of the family, feeling unappreciated by Odin and underestimated by the others.

Parker is also fresh off his work on the Netflix military drama, Boots. In the series, he played Sgt. Liam Robert Sullivan. He received the Visibility Award from the Human Rights Campaign for the visibility his role brought to the LGBTQ+ community.

Sons of Anarchy star Ryan Hurst will play the role of main protagonist Kratos in the upcoming series. Teresa Palmer was previously reported to have been cast as Sif, Thor’s wife.

Amazon has greenlit a second season of the series before filming has even begun. Production is slated to start in February, with pre-production currently underway in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The show will be written, run, and produced by Ronald D. Moore, known for his work on the Apple TV series For All Mankind. the first two episodes set to be directed by Frederick E. O. Toye, known for his work on the video game–to–television adaptation of Fallout.
