Pokémon TCG Pocket Trailer Reveals October 2024 Release Date

In a new trailer released today, developer Creatures Inc. confirmed that Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will launch on October 30, 2024. The trailer invites fans to pre-register for the game now.

Today’s trailer showcases a variety of booster packs and cards, including many familiar Pokémon like Squirtle, Charizard, and Greninja.

It also teases the UI for battles, opening packs, trading, and other key mechanics. The trailer closes by teasing the anticipated immersive card mechanic, featuring Mewtwo, where players can enter the world of the card itself.

Today’s trailer closes by confirming its footage is from “a product in development and not final,” so everything from art to content is still subject to change.

It also reminds players that Pokémon TCG Pocket will be free-to-start in October, with “optional in-game purchases available.” Pre-registering for the game could potentially earn bonuses later on, though today’s trailer did not confirm that.

The Pokémon Company first announced Pokémon TCG Pocket during the latest Pokémon Presents showcase in February 2024.

According to the game’s official site, it will feature “nostalgic artwork from the past as well as brand-new cards that are exclusive to Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.”

Pokémon fans also wait news about Pokémon Legends Z-A, which releases worldwide in 2025. Most recently, new claims also surfaced last week that the Pokémon franchise could get a live-action series at Netflix.
