The Pokémon Company has announced that the next major set, Mega Evolutions, will be “slightly delayed” in select markets.
Mega Evolutions was initially due for release in Western markets on September 26, marking the long-awaited return of Mega Pokémon to the TCG, but those in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will have to wait slightly longer.
While the release in the United States is not affected, the delay of Mega Evolutions until October in various regions will be a blow to trainers worldwide.
Pokémon Mega Evolutions Delayed to October 10

In a post on social media, the Pokémon Company announced that “challenges impacting product delivery dates” have resulted in the Mega Evolutions expansion being “slightly delayed in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) markets.”
Though an exact release date has not been guaranteed, the statement added that the company is “working hard alongside our logistics partners to ensure products will be available for purchase from 10 October 2025.”
It’s unclear at this stage what the delay means for pre-release events in the region, and whether they will also be delayed, and it serves as another blow to fans.
Getting hands on Pokémon TCG products has been increasingly difficult due to high demand, which saw a Japanese McDonald’s promotion end early following huge queues and food wastage.
The delay of Mega Evolutions will likely mean higher secondary market prices on launch, as some will import from the US, throwing yet more issues into the mix.
