Pokémon Pokopia Bubbly Basin: How to Get Shiny Pearls

Pokémon Pokopia has introduced a bunch of new mechanics and materials with the first part of the Expansion Pass, and Shiny Pearls are a crucial resource for progressing in the Bubbly Basin area.

Bubbly Basin in Pokopia is exclusive to the Expansion Pass, which requires an additional purchase from the base game, and introduces an underwater world to explore, filled with new Pokémon to befriend.

As you rebuild what remains of Cerulean City, Shiny Pearls will be needed in abundance, and Insider Gaming has the details on how to get them in Pokopia.

Shiny Pearls cannot be found in the overworld in Pokopia and require the assistance of a Pokémon with the Scrub ability to access them.

Instead, Grubby Pearls are found in abundance in the Bubbly Basin area of Pokopia, but they have no use except for being transformed into Shiny Pearls, which are required for a host of Pokémon requests and for crafting particular items.

The easiest Pokémon to obtain that has the Scrub specialty is Cloyster, as the requirements for its Habitat are revealed during a request from Mareanie, who wants a Shiny Pearl.

Cloyster spawns from the Swaying Flower Bed & Seaweed Habitat in Pokopia, which requires four Seabad Flowers, a Chimney Rock, and two pieces of Lush Seaweed to create.

All Scrub Specialty Pokémon in Pokopia

While Cloyster is likely the first Pokémon you will encounter in Pokopia that has the Scrub Specialty, it is not unique to it.

Shellder and Sharpedo are two other Pokémon that can utilize the Scrub Specialty to transform Grubby Pearls into Shining Pearls, and utilizing them can make it quicker if you’re in need of a large supply.

Rather than relying on one Pokémon with Scrub to clear up a large quantity of Grubby Pearls, you can split the stack between several Pokémon to make the process quicker.

It’s always worth keeping on top of your Shining Pearls supply given the vast number of crafting recipes that require the item, so make sure you always keep an eye on where these Pokémon are located.
