How to Get Mega Gyarados in Pokémon Legends: Z-A—Gyaradosite Location, Explained

Mega Evolution is back in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, with Mega Gyarados one of the many forms you can get your hands on if you obtain a Gyaradosite, and we can point you in the exact direction.

There are a host of Mega Evolutions available in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, including two forms of Mega Charizard and the brand-new Mega Greninja, but Gyarados will always have a special place in the hearts of many fans.

If you’ve turned your useless Magikarp into a powerful beast in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and want to take the next step by using Gyaradosite to unlock Mega Gyarados, here are all the details you need.

Where to Find Gyaradosite & Get Mega Gyarados in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Gyaradosite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is only available via the Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange, with a purchase limit of one of each Mega Stone.

The Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange is unlocked when you gain access to the Quasartico headquarters after defeating Vinnie, surging up the Z-A Royale ranks in the process, and joining the team to assist in taking down Rogue Mega Evolutions.

Speak to either of the NPCs at the front desk at the back of the ground floor of the Quasartico building to access the Mega Shard Exchange, where several Mega Stones for various Pokémon are available to purchase.

Gyaradosite is one of the more affordable Mega Stones purchasable with Mega Shards, costing 240, and there is always a ready supply of Mega Stones to destroy around the city to earn more of the resource.

Pokémon holding a Mega Stone cannot be traded in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, nor can you obtain multiple of the same Mega Stone, so purchasing Gyaradosite is a one-time thing. You can, however, remove the Gyaradosite from a Gyarados to hand it to another, like a Shiny.

Don’t forget to revisit the Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange regularly during your story progression, as additional Mega Stones are unlocked and become available to purchase as you delve further into the mysteries of Lumiose City, and remember this isn’t the only way to obtain Mega Stones.
