Sony has announced a new PlayStation State of Play is coming on Thursday, February 23. The announcement came via the company’s official PlayStation blog.
The first one of 2023, the latest State of Play will feature a number of updates from various third-party studios, a look at upcoming PS VR2 games, and a deep dive into Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
“Get ready for new looks at some anticipated games from our third-party partners, as well as a first glimpse at five PlayStation VR2 games set to arrive later this year,” Sony says. “Then, settle in for more than 15 minutes of all-new gameplay details and updates on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the next game from Rocksteady Studios.”
Sony has recently said that over 30 games will be coming to PS VR2 during the headset’s launch window. So, it should be expected that the five games are all ones that have been previously announced, but not shown. The hope for fans should be, however, that they are new games and not ports of already released games that are coming.
As far as the third-party games, there’s currently no information about what those could be. It’s expected, though, that the games will be titles slated for launch over the next year or so.
The first State of Play of the year airs at 4PM ET/1PM PT on Thursday. It’ll be available to watch on both Twitch and YouTube.
