Hours ago, Phasmophobia’s developer – Kinetic – revealed that the console launch of their multiplayer horror title has been delayed because of a ‘recent fire incident’ in their office building. It was supposed to be released this month, but it has now been pushed back to October.
On a positive note, Kinetic explained why this is potentially more advantageous, as it now means that they’ll be pushing for a ‘special launch’ during the Halloween period – which’ll like resonate with their fans.
Hold On a Little While Longer
It’s not so bad, right? It’s a two-month delay, and in the words of Kinetic, it’ll give them time to ‘perfect and fine-tune everything’ ready for Phasmophobia to release on consoles. In 2020, the game was released on PC to a relatively positive reception, boasting jumpscare mechanics, multiplayer ghost-hunting action, and more mystery-solving elements than you could shake an ectoplasmic reader thingy at.
In the statement published on Twitter, Kinetic said about the delay:
Due to a recent fire incident in our office building and unpredicted development issues, our ability to test and develop has been significantly impacted. After careful consideration, we have made the tough decision to delay the console release.
For the most part, the community was accepting of the delay in the post’s comments, with the more understanding fans urging Kinetic to take their time and get back on their feet appropriately to deliver the best product possible.
Are you still looking forward to Phasmophobia’s release on consoles?
