So what conclusions can we draw from how the Swiss Stage played out? Let’s start with the good news: BetBoom backed up their IEM Cologne 2026 Major playoffs qualification.

Kirill ‘Boombl4’ Mikhaylov’s BetBoom roster defeated Spirit and his former team NAVI on their way to the playoffs, with Kirill ‘Magnojez’ Rodnov proving he is a legit fragging star on the way.

FUT’s debut with Álvaro ‘SunPayus’ García has also been a great success so far, with SunPayus sharing on broadcast that he wanted to mesh with the roster’s playstyle, instead of trying to change it to suit himself. Luckily, they’re fitting together seamlessly so far.

Team Vitality will also be feeling good in Dan ‘apEX’ Madesclaire’s absence. William ‘mezii’ Merriman has largely been successful in returning to IGLing duties, albeit temporarily.

On the negative side, there’s no doubt that G2 are the bad news of the event. The team’s benching of SunPayus and addition of Artem ‘r1nkle’ Moroz seems like a self-inflicted wound so far, with the Ukrainian struggles to hit shots and making a litany of mistakes along the way.

Looking like a staunch top-eight team in the world before the change, G2’s floor has collapsed at just the wrong time of the season, with the PGL Singapore Major looming.

Legacy suffered their third bad exit in a row at PGL Masters Bucharest, leading to the removal of Vinicius ‘n1ssim’ Pereira from the roster. The Brazilian roster had looked like the best South American team at times this season, but will not have to start building up familiarity with new rifler Italo ‘ksloks’ Meinberg.
