How to Get Hardwood in Palworld 1.0

Palworld’s long-awaited 1.0 update has significantly altered the game, adding new areas and a bunch of resources to gather, including the elusive Hardwood.

Hardwood is a new resource added in Palworld‘s 1.0 update and serves as a higher-tier material than standard wood, which is easily found in abundance. Unlike normal wood, however, Hardwood can only be harvested from a few specific spots.

If you’re on the hunt for Hardwood in Palworld, Insider Gaming has all the tips on exactly where to look.

Hardwood is available in several areas in Palworld 1.0, though there are two areas in particular that are great for grinding the resource early on.

The Twilight Dunes, northwest of the starting area of the Windswept Hills and the location where extremely useful Pals like Anubis and Digtoise are located, is the easiest area to reach for the resource, though it’s quite limited in the amount you can get.

While that’s a good location to grind early on, the best spot is on Sakurajima Island, where the pink-leaved cherry blossom trees drop an abundance of the resource. As they are widespread, it’s easy to gather as much as you need.

Later on in your playthrough, Hardwood is also found on Feybreak and on the new floating islands added in the 1.0 update, though both of these are home to high-level Pals and enemies, so they aren’t the best areas to grind early on.

What is Hardwood Used For in Palworld 1.0?

Hardwood is a resource required for an abundance of items and weapons in Palworld, so it’s always a handy material to have.

The Double-Barreled Shotgun and Single-Shot Rifle both require Hardwood to craft, while it’s also needed for a Logging Site II, Large Pal Beds, and high-end Pal Spheres, including Legendary Spheres, Sol Spheres, and Ultimate Spheres.

When it comes to decorating your base, Hardwood is also needed in a large supply, with various building pieces, including the majority of the Japanese-style pieces, all requiring Hardwood in abundance.

Fortunately, once you know exactly where to look, acquiring Hardwood does not take too much effort or time at all.
