In an all-new report, it has been revealed that Nintendo has requested manufacturers piece together 25 million units of the Switch 2 in the next six months, ramping up the production pipeline amid ongoing success for the device.
As the Switch 2 pushes ever closer to exceeding prior expectations, Nintendo is preparing for either another wave of sales or continuing growth as the holiday season approaches.
Nintendo To Sell 20 Million Switch 2 Units This Year
In an exclusive report from Bloomberg, it was revealed by sources close to Nintendo that the Japanese gaming titan plans to accelerate production of the Switch 2 in the next few months:
The Japanese company is asking its manufacturing partners to ramp up output, counting on demand to persist over the coming holidays and into the new year, according to people familiar with the matter. Nintendo, which began assembly of the Switch 2 around the end of calendar 2024, may still adjust the final production figures when it gets a clearer reading of demand during the critical holiday shopping season.
The report went on to mention swollen marketing spends to push the Switch 2 into the eyes of more prospective buyers, and rising share prices that are indicative of the company’s ongoing success since releasing the Switch 2 on June 5.
In recent news in the Nintendo space, it was claimed that the Switch 2 was delayed several times before making it to market, and that Nintendo kept pushing back the launch because it was striving for perfection with the handheld device.
It was also suggested by a recent patent that Nintendo DS games might be headed to Switch 2. The patent documentation explained how Nintendo would manage the dual-screen function on the single screen of the Switch 2.
