Multiple Sources say Nintendo Direct is Scheduled for September 13, 2022

Multiple reputable gaming insiders including Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, GamesBeat journalist (and Last of the Nintendogs co-host) Mike Minotti, and Nintendo insider Emily Rogers have all claimed that a new Nintendo Direct will take place tomorrow, September 13th.

Information on what the Nintendo Direct will contain are vague, but Grubb and Minotti had speculated during Nintendogs Episode 60 that rumored Zelda, Metroid Prime, and Advance Wars could be revealed; but probably not all at the same time.

In addition, it was also claimed by Grubb that the next Nintendo Direct will be a “Zelda blowout” for Nintendo. The comment is backed by the fact that Nintendo is still yet to reveal information on Zelda: The Breath of the Wild 2, which is set to release in 2023.

Speculations surrounding a new Nintendo Direct are never far away, but with the Tokyo Games Show set to go ahead on September 19th, a new direct beforehand could be a logical move from Nintendo.

The Direct was in apparent jeopardy following the death of Queen Elizabeth II though, with Minotti and Grubb claiming that Nintendo had notified its partners that the scheduled event could be delayed. According to Grubb though, it seems like the Direct is now still planned to take place this week.

Update – Nintendo has officially confirmed that a Nintendo Direct will take place tomorrow and feature 40 minutes of announcement and information.

The publisher has also announced that Nintendo UK will not be live streaming the show in respect of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. For more from Insider Gaming, check out our exclusive article on the Assassin’s Creed title that wasn’t revealed at Ubisoft Forward.
