EA Sports recently provided a comprehensive breakdown of NHL 27‘s Connected Franchise mode. The reveal trailer for the game mode dropped on July 16 and, overall, excited fans with its content. However, there is a catch. The online franchise mode requires a league to be full of human players.
Now, more details are being shared, shedding light on the overall concept that aims to go beyond playing games online with friends and to create an entire league of your own. According to the blog on EA’s website, the mode is all about “building long-running communities where groups of friends can compete head-to-head.”
NHL 27 Explains Connected Franchise’s Online League Mode
Once you’re in the mode, your first step is to create your league. Players can customize everything from the size of their league to the number of conferences and divisions. You can start the league with default rosters, which will be updated throughout the year, or fully customize the roster you play with.
“The custom roster utility lets you create players, move players between teams, and design custom teams and arenas. Best of all, roster sharing features full crossplay support—ensuring everyone in your league builds from the same setup, no matter what console they play on,” the blog notes.
Your league can be set up to fit your friend group’s needs. They also offer unlimited seasons and flexible scheduling, allowing you to keep things moving despite real-life obligations, time zones, and other obstacles.
