According to an insider, the next Resident Evil Remakes are for Code Veronica and Zero, and they are scheduled to arrive in 2027/2028.
Dusk Golem is back at it with their scoops on the Resident Evil franchise. Most recently, we got two new details about Requiem: firstly, new gameplay will be shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live, and secondly, the upcoming title will seemingly have ‘Last of Us’ combat and vehicles. Now, new information about upcoming remakes has been revealed.
Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica Are Reportedly the Next RE Remakes
The latest details about RE Remakes come from Aesthetic Gamer, also known as Dusk Golem on X (formerly Twitter). Their new post says that “the next remakes are Resident Evil: Code Veronica & Resident Evil Zero” and they should be “releasing in 2027/2028”. The insider is unsure which of the two games will be released first at the moment. In the comments section of this post, Dusk Golem reiterated that they are confident this information is “accurate”.
In a different post, Dusk Golem provided more information about these games when asked about Revelations 3. The insider stated that the Revelations 3 reboot was in development for a few months, but “it got cancelled in 2022 because it wasn’t turning out well”. Moreover, the development team wanted to concentrate on RE:4, RE9, Code Veronica and Zero remakes over rebooting Revelations 3. As always, this information doesn’t come from an official source, so take it with a grain of salt.
In other news, the upcoming Resident Evil movie by Zach Cregger will feel “fresh, edgy and weird“. Also, here’s why action game-like mechanics were dropped from the original game. Let us know through the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
