New Valorant Agent Hush is a Chinese Duelist Who Wields Telekinesis

Riot Games finally unveiled that the 31st Agent to be added to Valorant is the new duelist, Hush.

The Chinese character was revealed during the Valorant Champions Shanghai final between LOUD and Team Vitality.

Valorant’s ninth duelist wields telekinesis to disrupt the enemy team and redirect her own combat utility in midair.

Hush will release on the Valorant live servers on Tuesday, October 27, as the first new character since the introduction of the Agent Mastery system.

Hush Valorant Abilities

Hush is all about precision and control rather than raw power, as she looks to outwit her opponents with multiple redirects.

  • Telekinesis (Passive)
    • Hush can pick up weapons, the Spike, and INTERACT with switches from an increased range using her telekinetic powers.
  • Displacement
    • This is a throwable that explodes on any surface or after a delay, pulling all players towards the center and concussing them if they collide with any surface or another player. Fire throws it, alt fire prepares it, and players can reactivate midair to direct the throwable towards their crosshair. This ability also resets after every two kills.
  • Flashbulb
    • Another throwable that explodes upon impact and that Hush can redirect in the same way as Displacement. But Flashbulb instead will flash all players who look at it.
  • Flow
    • Flow is Hush’s mobility tool, which immediately creates an anchor. If Hush is in the air, she briefly levitates in place before launching towards the anchor to reposition.
  • Suspension (Ultimate)
    • Hush instantly prepares Suspension, then sends it forward while steering with her crosshair. Players can reactivate or press fire again to detonate the ability, catching and levitating all players within its radius. Her teammates can then easily pick off their helpless opponents.

Valorant Devs Reveal More About Hush

A brief QnA with Nicholas Smith, a Valorant game designer focusing on Agents & weapons, has revealed more about Hush.

Smith reveals that Riot had wondered what telekinesis would look like in Valorant, and having Hush be able to manipulate the game was key to her kit:

“We kept coming back to the idea that Hush shouldn’t just throw utility, she should be able to manipulate it.

“That led us to abilities like Displacement and Flashbulb, where you can redirect them in midair, as well as Flow, which turns that same telekinetic control inward and lets Hush manipulate her own movement.

“Together, those mechanics give players a lot of room to get creative with angles, timing, and positioning.”

Smith also added that he’s excited to see how creative players can be with her abilities.

“I think there’ll be a progression from learning what her abilities do to really understanding how you can manipulate their paths, combine them with your movement, and start pulling off plays that only work because you saw an opportunity someone else didn’t.”

“We wanted Hush to feel like she’s always one step ahead, using her abilities to create openings, disrupt enemies, and set herself up to take advantage,” he added.
