UPDATE: The new single-player game in the Dead by Daylight universe is known as The Casting of Frank Stone, and it launches in 2024.
ORIGINAL: A new single-player game set in the Dead by Daylight universe is in development from Supermassive Games and Behaviour Interactive.
“We’re obviously all horror fans here at Supermassive, and massive fans of Dead by Daylight,” Supermassive Games studio director Steve Goss said. “Now we’re thrilled to be collaborating with Behaviour on a brand new single-player interactive story game set in the terrifying omniverse of Dead by Daylight.”
“We’ve been working hard to blend the tension, agency, and branching storytelling of a Supermassive game together with Dead by Daylight’s mythology to create a tense narrative experience filled with powerful life or death choices,” Supermassive executive producer Traci Tufte said.
The game will be set outside of the entity’s realm and feature the story of brand-new characters.
“This is a whole new way for horror fans to experience Dead by Daylight,” Goss said.
There’s nothing else known about the new game, but more information was promised for later this year. The announcement also featured a tag of the official account for The Game Awards, seemingly hinting that more information would be coming during the show on December 7.
Supermassive Games is known for titles like the first two LittleBigPlanet games, Until Dawn, Little Nightmares, and The Quarry.

Isn’t that why there’s custom mode?
This is exciting. I hope it is great.
I think it’s supposed to be more of a RE type game.
