Call of Duty fans the world over are patiently awaiting the arrival of Rebirth Island in Warzone – again. It has been on the cards for a while, and many battle royale players are in eager anticipation of the small-form map making a grand return to the ecosystem, inevitably preparing to knock the likes of Vondel and Fortune’s Keep down a peg or two.
Rebirth Island is a legendary Warzone map that has origins in 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, and it has hung around in one way or another since then, hitting the peak of its popularity when it was added as a playable map in Call of Duty Warzone in 2020.
Is Rebirth Island Coming Back?
In an image recently shared on Reddit by Call of Duty dataminers, it seems that Rebirth Island has been captured in an artistic shot, prompting players to believe that an announcement is imminent. There are expectations within the community that Rebirth Island will make a return to Warzone during the fourth season of Modern Warfare 3’s lifecycle, not too far from the launch of COD 2024.
One user claimed that dynamic events are headed to Rebirth Island. It was said that various areas of the map will be hit by strikes or catastrophic events that will unfold spontaneously, and a day-night cycle will offer a variation of playstyles that competitors must adapt to as time goes on. It has also been claimed that Rebirth Island will have a dynamic weather system that will be hard to predict.
It’s not yet known when Rebirth Island will resurface in Call of Duty.
