It has only been a few days since Nintendo hosted the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct to showcase what players can expect from the upcoming entry in the Super Mario franchise when it launches on October 20th. Despite this, Nintendo is already gearing up to host a regular Nintendo Direct where it will showcase many of the titles we can expect to see throughout the rest of 2023 and early 2024.
According to Brazillian website Universo Nintendo, the company is set to hold its latest Nintendo Direct presentation at some point next week between September 11-15. It is unclear whether this will be a mini-show or a larger presentation, but with the gaming industry heading into its busiest period of the year, we expect it to be the latter. This will mark the first Nintendo Direct presentation since June’s presentation which showcased games including Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Pikmin 4, a new Princess Peach game, and the Super Mario RPG remake.
What Will Be Shown During The Nintendo Direct?
As of right now, there is no news on what to expect from the presentation. But there are plenty of new Nintendo Switch releases to look forward to over the coming months so we can expect to see many of them showcased during the event. Sonic Superstars was showcased during the previous Nintendo Direct presentation and its release date is drawing near as it launches on October 17th, so there is a good chance we will find out more details about that game. As previously mentioned, Super Mario Bros. Wonder launches just three days later on October 20th. Looking ahead further there is the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection launching on October 24th, but with Konami rumored to host a presentation soon it may not be featured this time.
Moving into November there is Star Ocean: The Second Story R releasing on November 2nd, another game that was previously featured during the previous Nintendo Direct. WarioWare: Movie It! follows on November 3rd, the highly anticipated Super Mario RPG on November 17th, and the first Pokemon Scarlet/Violet expansion is set to launch in the fall of 2023. We can also expect news on some titles that are set to release in 2023 and beyond, which could include Metroid Prime 4.
There were also rumors that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 may have been showcased behind closed doors at Gamescom, so there is a small chance that it could be teased during this Nintendo Direct presentation. The Nintendo Switch is nearing the end of its lifecycle, having been released in 2017, so it shouldn’t be too long before we find out what the next console will be.

But when’s the next State Of Play or Showcase for PlayStation? They’re playing with people too much. That Showcase in the Summer was awful!
Will this be a big direct? Everyone is sitting on their announcements for too long! Hopefully Metroid Prime 4 gets an update here. Sony needs to hurry an announce a show as to make up for that abysmal showcase in June.
