Tier 2 Counter-Strike Tournament Organizer, New Breed Agency, has announced the immediate cancellation of the Parken circuit after the TO initiated bankruptcy proceedings.
The announcement brings to an end the Parken Challenger Championships, a set of highly ambitious Tier 2/3 Copenhagen LANs which were intended to culminate in an event at Parken Stadium, the home of F.C. Copenhagen.
The news comes ironically only a day before the start of the IEM Cologne 2026 Major, with several attending teams owing, in part, their qualification to the Tier 2 LANs.
Ambitious Parken Challenger circuit collapses in an instant
The news puts an end to the Parken Circuit, one of the most ambitious projects in the Tier 2/3 space, a circuit which promised over $500,000 of prize pool to teams fighting to climb their way to the Tier 1 scene.
In total, eight Parken Challenger Championships were held of the 16 planned LAN events. Each Challenger Championship event had a prize pool of €10,000 (roughly $11,600 USD).
The winners of the events were then qualified for the year-ending Stadium Master LAN Finals, where eight Open Qualified teams would join them. The Stadium LAN boasted a prize pool of $342,000, a gargantuan sum for a Tier 2 LAN.
In the end, that stadium event will never happen as the tournament organizer collapses under the weight of its debts.
The tournament organizer shared the cancellation of those events, stating, “It is with great regret that we must announce that Parken Challenger Championship Series #9-16, as well as the Parken Stadium Master Finals, have been cancelled and will not take place.
“This follows the decision by New Breed Agency ApS, the operating company behind the Parken Challenger Championship, to initiate bankruptcy proceedings.”
The bankruptcy puts an end to New Breed Agency’s Parken circuit. The eight winners of Parken Challenger Championship events were:
- GamerLegion
- Betclic Apogee
- B8
- Aab Esport
- Infinite
- 100 Thieves
- Basement Boys
- WOPA Esport
New Breed Agency breaks under financial burdens
The TO stated that “Over the past several months, management, shareholders, and partners have worked extensively to secure additional funding and explore alternative solutions that could allow the company and its projects to continue operating. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, a viable solution could not be reached.”
As for the nature of that debt, Esplay and Barstool Production gave the public at least some hint at the scope of money owed when they formally withdrew from their partnership with New Breed on Saturday.
Esplay announced its withdrawal from the partnership and stated, “Esplay AB is not, and has never been, responsible for prize money payouts, player or team compensation, ticket refunds, entry refunds, or any other refunds connected to the Parken Challenger Championship.”
“All questions regarding prize money, payments, refunds, event status, or participant compensation should be directed to the project owner, New Breed Agency ApS”
As part of their statement, Parken Challenger Championships’ social media shared, “We are also aware that there are outstanding obligations connected to completed events and ongoing operations.
“Following the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings, all creditor matters and outstanding claims will be handled in accordance with applicable bankruptcy legislation and under the supervision of the appointed bankruptcy estate.”
