It was just a little more than two weeks ago that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was officially revealed with a trailer and a release date of November 10th, 2023. Now, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, an all-new showcase has been revealed, giving players a look at Operation 627, one of the earliest missions in the game.
For those in the Call of Duty space, it has been a busy two weeks – and then some – for news, with leaks, rumours, and tidbits of information flying around social media circles with reckless abandon. We’ve had a lot of content and features confirmed, while other elements remain a mystery – and now, thanks to Gamescom, we have an all-new gameplay video.
Will You Trust Modern Warfare III?
It’s now relatively well known – or at least rumoured – that Modern Warfare III will feature many elements that were either stripped from Modern Warfare II or that fans have spent the last few months crying out for. There’s an open-world Zombies experience, there will likely be an all-new Warzone instance, and there’s a gritty, darker campaign up for grabs.
And of course, multiplayer will be the core of the offering, featuring a host of remastered maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. It has been rumoured that MWIII’s multiplayer will boast an all-new perk system and a classic minimap and that every weapon, challenge, and bundle from 2022’s Modern Warfare II will port across.
It doesn’t end there, though – during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, an all-new trailer was revealed, flashing off Modern Warfare III’s campaign to anyone interested in watching it and learning more.
Here’s the video:
On the stage, Activision’s presenters also talked about the open-ended missions that are coming to Modern Warfare III – otherwise known as ‘Open Combat Missions’. It was stressed that players can truly pick how they approach every mission, gearing up according to their playstyle and completing their objectives in any way imaginable.
Are you excited for the release of Modern Warfare III or are you tired of Call of Duty at this point?
