In the run-up to the global release of Modern Warfare 3 on November 10th, Activision Blizzard has taken to the airwaves to publish the PC specs for the game, and they’re surprisingly not very demanding at all. It doesn’t look like you’ll need too immense a rig to be able to run Modern Warfare 3 at a high level, so much so that some PC gamers are expressing scepticism at the specs table.
That’s Not Bad At All
Let’s put it into perspective – if you want to run Modern Warfare 3 at ‘Competitive / 4K Ultra’, you only need an 8th-gen i7, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 3080 / RX 6800XT. At the other end of the spectrum, the minimum PC specs for MW3 should be achievable by vast swathes of the PC gaming community:
- i3-6100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, GTX 960 or RX 470 (worth stating that’s for multiplayer only, though)
Here’s the full breakdown of MW3’s PC specs:
For those that haven’t yet installed the COD HQ, there will be an install requirement that equals some 150 GB in storage, and Activision recommends that users install MW3 on an SSD. It was also noted that only AMD/Intel processors are supported ‘at this time’.
What do you think, will your PC be able to handle Modern Warfare 3?
