Insider Gaming’s Call of Duty dataminer, who wishes to remain anonymous, has revealed that 16 campaign missions will be coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The following list of Modern Warfare 2 campaign missions are codenames and are likely to change when the game is officially released.
All 16 campaign missions in alphebetical order (potential campaign spoilers ahead);
- Backstabbed
- Border
- Convoy Chase
- Gunship
- Intercept
- Marina
- Montage
- Nightwar
- Party
- Prison
- Shadowbase
- ShipAF
- Stolen
- Strike
- Tower
- Wounded
ShipAF, now known as Dark Water is one of the missions that Infinity Ward has officially shown.
All the campaign missions sound vague, but it’s hard to ignore one, in particular, Backstapped.
If you’re familiar with the original Modern Warfare 2, you’d know of the backstab in question. In the original title, in the campaign mission “Loose Ends“, Roach and Ghost are both betrayed by Shepherd, who shoots them both. At the end of the mission, as both Roach and Ghost are being soaked in gasoline and set alight, Price’s voice and be heard on Ghosts’ radio warning them of the betrayal.
It’s not yet been confirmed if such a scene will be in the new title, but the codename of the mission could imply it.
Modern Warfare 2 is set to launch on October 28th on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. Subsequently, Warzone 2 and the new DMZ mode will arrive on November 16th on the same systems.
