In social circles, Nintendo fans have started frothing over two new unlisted ads discovered and shared online. In these two ads, which are just fifteen seconds apiece, we get a look at new Metroid Prime 4 gameplay, including a few seconds of a never-before-seen boss named Carvex.
It’s not clear when the advertisements are set to go live, but they’ve already racked up tens of thousands of views in their unlisted state on account of Nintendo fans worldwide eating up the content.
Metroid Prime 4 is Coming Soon, But Gameplay Came Sooner
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is set to drop on December 4, but gameplay videos have emerged and are being shared in the open. In recent hours, fans have been poring over two fifteen-second ads (and linked shorts) that Nintendo had unlisted on YouTube, waiting for an inevitable go-live.
The first ad showcases a boss battle sequence against a new entity called Carvex, with the player being immersed in a traditional setting and using the Switch 2 docked with a regular controller-based input.
The second ad, also fifteen seconds long, showed the player in a similar segment, but this time, he’s using the Joy-Con’s ‘mouse input’ to get more accurate aiming conventions, or so the ad promises.
In a series of comments under the ads, the responses were somewhat mixed. One user dubbed the Metroid Prime 4 ads as ‘Gamecube visuals and gameplay’, while another was quick to make positive comparisons to previous games.
It’s not a huge amount to go on, and the ads will soon be released to the public (we assume), but it’s a nice tidbit for Nintendo fans to get excited about. The trailers first surfaced on the Famiboards forum, courtesy of user ‘BackwardsCompat’.
