Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Revealed Along With Story Trailer

Marvel Games has announced its latest game, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Releasing in 2025, the game will be developed by new studio Skydance New Media that is being led by Amy Hennig, formerly of EA and Naughty Dog, among other studios.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is a “narrative-driven action-adventure” title that will focus around for main characters: Steve Rodgers aka Captain America, T’Challa’s grandfather Azzuri and the Black Panther from the World War II era, US Soldier Gabriel Jones, and Wakandan spy Nanali.

“In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy,” Skydance New Media says.

“Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, they must join forces to stop a sinister plot that threatens to turn the havoc of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra.”

In addition to the game’s announcement, the studio and Marvel Games released an extended story trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

No official platforms were revealed as of writing, but the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.

  • This game looks truly next gen. Black Panther looks great but I wish Cap didn’t have the movie look and this would have been a perfect time for the Invaders to show up since it’s the 40’s Namor, Bucky, and OG Human Torch. Still curious about the gameplay 2025 is close. Didn’t they have a Star Wars game and another Marvel game at Skydance?

    • Yeah those are probably a while away I think it’s the Visceral Star Wars game being brought back and a Fantastic Four game. Honestly this team probably would have done Indiana Jones justice.

    • Agreed Punisher should be a grittier dark humor GTA like and Moon Knight is just Batman who kills with ex-merc background. On the topic we need a Daredevil game and another Deadpool game. Spider-Man 2099 would be amazing too.

    • Yes if a Moon Knight game that looks like this is made it would be amazing based on the Charlie Houston run or just bring him in to write he’s the only good Moon Knight writer of the last few years

  • Where’s the EA Iron Man game? No trailer or footage for that yet, no footage for the Black Panther RPG, and still no word on what the 3rd EA Marvel game is. Outside that why hasn’t Sony released the Venom trailer? Where’s Spider-Man 2 DLC?

  • It looks great but where’s the gameplay? Also guy guys hear anything on Sony making more Marvel games outside the Insomniac leak? I heard Sucker Punch is making a Daredevil game want to see if that’s true.

  • I’m surprised to see more of this game but where is the gameplay? It looks nice but we don’t know what kind of game it is.

  • I don’t like that Black Panther is light skin he should be a dark skin black man this is white washing

  • Someone tell WB to do this with Nightwing, Batman Beyond, Batman again, Jonah Hex, or Green Arrow. There’s no good DC game in sight just Wonder Woman which will be more garbage with loot boxes.
