EA Sports has revealed the cover athlete for Madden 25, not to be confused with Madden 25 (2014) that came out 10 years ago.
Gracing the cover this year is San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey. It marks the first time a player from the 49ers has been the stand alone cover athlete for Madden. It’s the second time, however, a 49ers player is on the cover as defensive lineman Karl Wilson was on the cover of Madden 95. He wasn’t a focal point on the cover, though, as John Madden remained the main person.

Drafted eighth overall in 2017, McCaffrey spent five-and-a-half seasons with the Carolina Panthers before being traded to San Francisco. In his seven seasons in the NFL, McCaffrey has put up 6185 rushing yards and 52 touchdowns to go along with 4320 receiving yards and 29 receiving touchdowns. In 2023 alone he had 2023 total yards and 21 total touchdowns.
Madden 25 releases on August 16 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. A full feature reveal of the game is set for Thursday, June 13.
