Lunar Strike Gets New Gameplay Trailer at Insider Gaming Showcase

Lunar Strike, a stunning single-player sci-fi title grounded in realism, has just received a new gameplay trailer during the Insider Gaming Showcase. Lunar Strike is an all-new exploration-driven, narrative-led title from Cognition, and it’s the team’s first game as a collective.

While Lunar Strike doesn’t have a release window, you’ll want to add this one to your wishlist if you’re a fan of all things sci-fi. This might be a fictional title, but it’s highly speculative and, in the words of the team, is ‘grounded in hard science.’

Needless to say, the sheer base concept of the game has me intrigued.

What is Lunar Strike?

Lunar Strike is an exploration-focused game set on Earth’s moon around 100 years in the future. Players assume control of an archivist sent to document the fall of humanity’s presence on the rocky landscape, but as you take off to handle that mission, catastrophe strikes.

Players are forced to contend with hazardous conditions, all rooted in real science, while choosing how and what to document as the world around them crumbles.

There’s a branching narrative to explore, and your choices shape the game before you.

Key Features

Logic, Not Violence

Lunar Strike focuses on telling a story while surviving against the atmosphere and not enemies. That said, you need to focus on using a range of archival scanning tools and fighting against the elements rather than some kind of alien lifeform. Depleting oxygen, suit energy, and habitat systems all come into question.

Forensic Reconstruction

Use your high-tech tools of the future to reconstruct scenes and solve mysteries of what happened to bring about the untimely end of the human race on the Moon.

Real Scientific Principles

Lunar Strike is grounded in real science, which means everything from orbital dynamics, survival systems, and the environment you explore is modeled on current lunar research and knowledge.
