Waters of Ragnarök is a post-Ragnarök tactical survival game from Polar Region Games, revealed as part of the Insider Gaming Showcase on May 28.
Set in a drowned Norse mythology-inspired world, the game places players in command of a ship built from the bones of dead gods. As you explore the fractured remnants of the Nine Realms, you must manage your crew, harvest resources from fallen Jötnar, and fight to guide your people toward Gimli in an effort to rebuild civilization from the ruins of Ragnarök.
The game blends survival systems, tactical combat, and exploration across a supernatural ocean world filled with monsters, storms, and ancient magic.

A Drowned Norse World
Explore the flooded remains of the Nine Realms. Players sail between fractured islands, uncover hidden regions, and navigate supernatural storms while discovering what remains of both land and sea.
Deep Origin System
Players choose from distinct origins tied to the Nine Realms. Each origin influences playstyle, crew management, and combat mechanics, adding replayability and strategic depth.
Tactical Combat
Combat focuses on positioning, engagement control, and environmental hazards. Battles are fast-paced and tactical, with success depending more on decision-making than raw stats.
Crew Survival and Morale
Crew members are not just resources. Players must manage hunger, injuries, and morale. Death is permanent, and low morale can cause the expedition to collapse before external threats do.
Jötunn Harvesting
Players can scale and harvest the remains of fallen giants to collect rare materials. These encounters function as both resource-gathering opportunities and large-scale environmental challenges.

Polar Region Games is an independent studio based in Reykjavík, Iceland, focused on building games inspired by Norse mythology.
Founded by a small team of lifelong gamers, the studio operates as a lean development group with full ownership of their IP under the umbrella of their shared universe, Ashes of Yggdrasil.
